Strategixing in Backgammon
Even if Backgammon appears to be a simple board game, in reality, it is not just one. It involves plotting, and complex strategies to be able to win. It is very easy for a gambling player to learn how to play backgammon. It is how to defeat one's opponent that is very hard to master.
Like in other gambling games such as poker, there are different strategies that are to be used in backgammon. The best way to win is to be able to combine and use them in a game. Running Strategy
When you are not in an uncomfortable position or losing end, then there is no need to chase your opponents' markers. At this point, the gambling player has the luxury to run away from his opponent's markers instead. The key is just to avoid getting your markers hit or trapped. There is no sense of urgency to be aggressive, that is why the gambling player may just take his time running away from the enemy's markers.
Holding Strategy
The best point for the gambling player to keep for this strategy a point high in the enemy's homeboard, or at the enemy's bar. After the point is held, the gambling player then waits for a blot from his opponent. From this point, the gambling player can now hit the opponent's blot and sen it to the bar.
Using this same position, the gambling player may also win by casting the dice that would result to huge doubles. When this happens, the hed point is now broken by the gambling player, and consequently gets the lead.
Priming Strategy
This strategy is more on the defensive side. To be able to do this, the gambling player must create a defensive wall made up of six markers to prevent the opponents' markers from enetering their homeboard. Because this is a defensive play, your will also tend to slow down your game as you try to slow down the opponent's game. But at least, if done correctly, you will have more control than your opponent does.
Blitz Stratgey
In this strategy, the gambling player must complete his home board as fast as he can and at the same time keep his opponent markers at the bar. Actually, this strategy is both defensive and offensive. The gambling player attempts to make a quick offense while trying to maintain a good defense. Because there are two main things to be troubled with, this strategy is not very easy to do.
